New Release
Grieg: Complete Lyric Pieces (3CDs) - Nicholas Roth, piano

We are very proud to present our latest release, a triple CD set entitled ?Edvard Grieg: Complete Lyric Pieces for Piano? performed by Nicholas Roth. The 66 short pieces that compile the collection were composed over a span of more than thirty years and read like a personal diary containing colorful log of the many typically Norwegian scenes, dances, songs, as well as emotional states that were so important to the composer. This set is Nicholas Roth?s third release on Blue Griffin label, following his critically acclaimed ?Schumann: Novelletten, Op. 21? and ?The Russian Album.?

"Votapek plays Gershwin" reviewed
All Music Guide reviews Ralph Votapek latest CD

"He uses a light touch that gives the songs a nostalgic air, but still has the jazzy energy that Gershwin requires. In everything he plays on this disc, there is also a depth of color and shading that is subtle but adds so much... Votapek is very much at ease with the music, bringing out the lazy breeziness in "Summertime," the restlessness of "I Can't Sit Down," and the suspense of "The Buzzard Song." That he is so comfortable with Gershwin's music and seems to truly enjoy it makes this album a complete pleasure to hear." (Patsy Morita) Read full review
