Minjung came to record a piece for a competition CD. I'm sure she feels almost at home here at the studio, and my Steinway listens to her as an old friend! She sounded great with that treacherous Beethoven!

Shiho came to finish up the project from last week's recording session. I think the whole thing turned out quite well, and Shiho was genuinely impressed and happy with my work. That always makes me glad!

Sangmi is a Doctoral student at MSU College of Music studying with Deborah Moriarty. She needed to record a few pieces for a competition CD. She is a powerful pianist and a lot of fun to work with.

Sangmi would not let me take her picture this time, but promised to be ready for her closeup next week when she comes to finish up this project. :-)

Marilyn Mason opened our 2007-08 Fine Arts season with a concert on Molly Grove Chapel's Casavant tracker organ. She is a wonderful musician, of course, but she also turned out to be quite an entertainer with a marvelous sense of humor. She was talking about composers and their works, as well

Folias are recording their third CD on Blue Griffin label - this time the whole CD of original music about water, including their marvelous Lake Superior Suite. This is going to be a very uniusual release that we hope will be their best yet!

That was a day!

I started with editing for "Joyful Noise" CD of the pianist Juyeon Kang from Orange City, Iowa, that we recorded in early August. It is going to be a marvelous CD with a great program (Bach, Haydn, Brahms, Debussy, Scriabin... does it get any better than that?). Juyeon is a great pianist with wonderful technique that doesn't get in the way of her musicality.

Shiho is Michigan State University College of Music student, and she wanted to record the program that she is playing for her recital this coming Sunday. The program includes Betthoven's Sonata, Liszt's Funeral March and Schumann's Davidsbundler Dances (both books!!!). Quite a program!

Full Monty, the adult musical, is currently running at the Riverwalk Theatre in Downtown Lansing. I don't think I can post any pictures from the show on my blog, just to keep it G-rated. (G-string anyone?)

Lani Smith is an master student in oboe performance at Michigan State studying with Jan Eberle. She heeded to record a few excerpts, oboe soloes from large orchestral works.

Lani has a beautiful round sound and impecable intonation and I think I managed to capture it well with a pair of Schoeps

One more fundraiser at the Potter House. This time for Peppermint Creek Theater Company. The house was filled with about a hundred people. Music and singing everywhere!

Even I got a chance to play piano and accompany  Janine Novenske Smith for a song from New Brain, musical
