A much sought-after pianist, Kimberly Schmidt has appeared on concert stages across America as recitalist, concerto soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician. Recitals in Chicago's Orchestra Hall, New York's Carnegie Recital Hall, and London's Wigmore Hall launched a career that is unusually varied. His repertoire includes concerti of Brahms, Schumann, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Berg, and Stravinsky. He has performed in major cities across America and has recorded on Stolat, Koch, and Musical Heritage labels. The list of artists with whom he collaborated includes Lucia Popp, Olaf Baer, Donald Peck, Suzanne Mentzer, and Bonita Boyd. Mr. Schmidt has for many years collaborated with his brother, choreographer Gordon Pierce Schmidt, most notably as composer of the award-winning ballet, The Gift of the Magi.
