Presented by two father/son pairs (Ed [tuba] and Noah [xylophone] Mallett, and Alvin [piano] and Dominic [saxophone] Waddles), "Noodlings" recreates the wit, energy, and bravura of early jazz and ragtime performers from 100 years ago. All tracks are based on transcriptions from the original turn-of-the-century recordings, while the quartet's improvisations and fresh arrangements offer a newfound spontaneity.
