In his latest release, oboist Jared Hauser presents a program which represents the vanguard of musical composition during the Baroque and Rococo era from across Europe. Although, from a present-day perspective, these works may invoke thoughts of convention and classicism, they were, originally, anything but conventional when premiered.

Hauser plays with focus and clarity; his sound is impeccably pure….
…the passagework is clean and the phrases appropriately graceful…
It’s worth noting again the purity of Hauser’s oboe sound, and he is remarkably consistent throughout different registers. Moreover, it did not occur to me until about halfway through the program how centered his intonation is, which is exactly how it should be: unnoticeable.
