On August 14, Blue Griffin Recording releases The Tibetan Book of the Dead: An Opera by Ricky Ian Gordon, restored from the 1996 Archival Tapes from The American Music Theater Festival from June 12–14, 1996. Co-Commissioned by Houston Grand Opera and The American Music Theatre Festival in 1995, The Tibetan Book of the Dead is based on ancient Tibetan Buddhist teachings on death and rebirth, and depicts the epic journey of a dying soul through a series of spiritual and emotional planes along the road of rebirth.

On May 15, Blue Griffin Recording releases Wide Grey Skies: Edna St. Vincent Millay’s poetry through song from soprano Amalia Osuga and pianist Aimee Fincher. Wide Gray Skies is a portrait of Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892-1950) through songs inspired by her poetry. The songs, which span almost a century, present an incredible variety of styles and set texts from every era of the poet’s life. From unpublished gems found in archives that were composed during Millay’s life to bold and bombastic 21st century compositions, including eight world premieres, each song has its own unique story.

Blue Griffin Recording announces the August 7, 2026 release of Nature’s Twilight Idyll, an album of nine evocative new string quartets performed by Italy’s UmbriaEnsemble. Produced in partnership with the nonprofit collective Three Essential Elements, the album gathers works by nine composers from around the world to form a luminous portrait of the natural world, and inviting listeners into a shared, restorative space where music and landscape become one.

On April 24, Blue Griffin Recording releases Strings Intertwined by the ConTempus Quartet. Strings Intertwined celebrates the ensemble’s 10th anniversary. Since their founding in November 2015, the ensemble has been committed to rediscovering underrepresented music and collaborating with living composers. This album includes String Quartet by Florence Price, and two world-premiere recordings - Fernande Decruck’s Suite dans le style ancien and String Quartet No. 1 by Ivette Herryman Rodriguez, commissioned by ConTempus Initiative.

Blue Griffin Recording is proud to present The Haydn Project: Live from Michigan from Camerata Michigan and conductor Tigran Shiganyan. The two-disc recording features Franz Joseph Haydn’s (1732–1809) Sinfonia Concertante in B flat Major, Hob. I:105, Piano Concerto in D Major, Hob. XVIII:11, Violin Concerto in G Major, Hob. VIIa:4, and Cello Concerto in D major, Hob. VIIb-2.
The live recording comes from a concert on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Fairchild Theater at Michigan State University as part of the Cello Plus Festival. The concert was highlighted by Joseph Haydn’s vibrant Sinfonia Concertante, a rarely performed work which blends symphonic elegance with the intimacy of a concerto. Conductor Tigran Shiganyan leads the Michigan State University student ensemble, Camerata Michigan, alongside soloists Yvonne Lam (violin), Deborah Moriarty (piano), Suren Bagratuni (cello), Michael Kroth (bassoon), and Nermis Mieses (oboe).
